The Nordic Permaculture Festival is a travelling festival in Scandinavia, with aims to spread knowledge and experience of permaculture solutions for sustainable living.
This year it will be held in Norway and will be an inspirational gathering for the Nordic Permaculture environment, ‘veterans’ and ‘beginners’ alike!
You are welcome to a fabulous gathering of many inspiring and experience-based workshops on Permaculture and related areas! And of course to meet lots of great folk and share of our wealth, music, dancing and fun and eat lovely locally produced ecological food!

Permaculture is permanent culture - sustainable development in action.
We aim to create a way of life where we can harvest from natural abundance.
Permaculture is a design method for sustainable development. Rooted in ’the existing’, it has nature with its optimal solutions as an inspiration. An ideal and maximum use of the resources is achieved through a systematic and wholesome approach. Permaculture is founded on the three principles ; earth care, people care and fair share.
This is a collaborative, non-profit, festival and it is our wish that everyone who joins us feels a part of this co-creation, and feels free to contribute from who they are. There will be plenty of practical, and creative ways to support our process! Workshops we aim to hold are: Permaculture introduction, Permaculture design, forest gardening, wild edible plants, living soil, relatinghumans, green building, alternative energy, clay, massheaters, herbs, hugelculture, no-dig gardening, food fermentation/ storage, seedsaving, composting, up-cycling and many more…
If you want to contribute as a workshopholder, or have suggestions about someone else who do etc, you are welcome to get in touch.
There will also be many opportunities to help growing this festival during this spring and summer, so keep updates on our activities if you want to come and visit in advance J
For more information about the festival see facebook: ‘The Nordic Permaculture Festival’ or http://hurdalecovillage.no/hurdal/
Accommodation:
Bring your own tent/vehicle for accommodation. If you have other accommodation/ need advice get in touch with us and we will do our best to find solutions, if not in the ecovillage itself, there are also other alternatives in surrounding area:

http://www.hurdalsjoen.no/no/hotell/
How to get there:
You will find address and map to see how to get there at
http://hurdalecovillage.no/hurdal/
For public transport:
http://ruter.no/ is a useful website to find public transport info, times etc.
Weekdays: Train to Gardermoen airport (from Oslo there is airport train or local train R10), then bus nr 815 from Gardermoen (direction ‘Eirikstellet’ or ‘Vassenden’) to ‘Hurdal kirke’
Mon – Sun: Train from Oslo Central Station to Eidsvoll verk, but from here you need a lift. (let us know if you cant find a solution)
Since public transport on Sunday does not exist from the ecovillage, we suggest carsharing as much as possible- at least on returning on Sunday. We will have a notice board, and will make sure everyone who wants to get home will do so
And in advance- use the facebook-page ‘The Nordic Permaculture Festival’ to post requests about sharing travel.
More information will be given to participants in advance of the festival.
We look forwards to seeing you in August -if not before!
With love and welcome.
